what is FLOPPY?

FLOPPY is a picopico Visual Kei band formed in 2004 by members Hiromu Toda and Sharaku Kobayashi. The unit's sound is inspired by New Wave and uses chiptune elements for a truly unique music experience.

They're called "FLOPPY" to bring up the imagery of "FLOPPY disks". Get that tech vibe going... they're trying to feel futuristic despite the fact nobody uses floppy disks anymore. (Maybe they kind of did in 2004, but even that's pushing it. Then again they're from Japan.) I think the name still works despite that. They're really robots from the future in my heart.

Lyrics are all handled by Sharaku, whose signature seems to be heavy themes despite whatever poppy tracks he's singing over. They're both on programming but Toda tends to most of the composition. They work well together.
